Huntington Breakers Apartments is a 342-unit apartment
complex built adjacent to the Pacific Ocean in
Huntington Beach, California. The project was
developed in multiple phases, with final completion
in 1986. It was built with the city’s redevelopment
agency and provides rental housing in a very desirable
area of the community. Huntington Breakers is
a large community with six different floor plans,
ranging from studio apartments to two-bedroom
split level townhomes. The project offers a variety
of amenities, including immediate proximity to
the ocean, a swimming pool and spa, lighted tennis
courts, a sand volleyball court, an indoor regulation
racquetball court, and a fully equipped fitness
center.
The developer of Huntington Breakers Apartments
was a Civic Partners affiliate. A private unrelated
general contractor performed construction. The
developer’s role involved more than the
typical tasks. It required the assembling of multiple
land parcels, including those within the jurisdiction
of the State Coastal Commission. Additionally,
the developer utilized tax exempt financing supplemented
with investor equity and mezzanine debt to bring
the project to fruition. |
